SCUBA DIVER IN A BOTTLE

Hello! This is a very fun and decorative experiment.. I hope you like it!!

To start you will need:

-Scuba diver toy figure

-Big soda bottle

-Blue food colouring

-Empty food colouring bottle

-Blue thread

-Decorations for the bottle

Start by filling your bottle of water for about this high..

Place your decorations inside. In my case the pink plant was from the pet store and the bottom of the plastic plant was very big .. so I used a knife to cut the bottom part to fit the soda container top. I got the plastic plant from the pet shop for about $1.50 dls. Andthe feather is a hair clip from Michaels.. I glued (with the hot gun) a metal screw on the bottom of the hair clip to make it sink.. I also painted some pretend bubbles with acrylic paint outside of the bottle.

When all the decorations are inside the bottle and filled with water.. apply a drop of blue colouring..

I purchased the scuba diver in a pack of plastic figures called whales and dolphins from Michaels in the section of all the miniature animal figures in boxes with a yellow hanger... Now we are going to remove the 2 lids from the food colouring empty container..

Now apply the thread on the bottle and make a tight node.. and to the neck of the scuba diver same with a node..

Fill your empty food colouring bottle with water.. and place the scuba inside the bottle and push it in like this..

Here is the tricky part of all.. you need to find the exact fill of water in the food colouring bottle.. finding the right amount of water inside (the food colouring) and oxygen.. will do the trick to make the scuba float and go down..

First close your bottle tight.. and make sure there is space of oxygen in the bottle like this.. on top.. and then press the bottle with the two hands .. and the scuba should move down..

if it doesn't go down the oxygen or colouring bottle has too much oxygen .. so you need to put your finger in and press the colouring bottle to get it to drop some oxygen.. until then your scuba stays up (when not pressing) and goes down when pressing it is perfectly set!!
